"Success will mean billions of people finding cryptocurrency to be convenient and reliable without ever understanding either the scientific or the political revolutions behind it." @zooko https://t.co/iEv4gtzvIB
That’s not true. I work on Wall Street. The traders love it. There may be people at the top of the financial hierarchy that see it as a threat but all those that work under them are just regular Joes trying to make a buck. They’ll use whatever tools are available to them in order to do that and most of them are clueless about how the money system works or what money even is (which works both ways, they also have no clue what bitcoin is, they just see it as a toy they can play with to make money).
Right, I was able to read some news back then that some wall street guys, like the higher ups saw Bitcoin or cryptocurrency, as a threat but, now they see what or how powerful this currency can be of help or make change in financial technology and mainly for finance worldwide.
I can only provide antidotal evidence so it’s not like I would know how people at the top feel, but I manage the IT side of things on a trade floor so I get to talk to traders on a daily basis and they all went from thinking it was stupid (they didn’t see it as a threat) to thinking it was an awesome new market to make money in. None of them even keep private keys. I’d say at one point last year about 50% of them jumped in and only 2 guys had hardware wallets. All of them just had coinbase or Gemini accounts. Some of them had well over a 150k worth of coins on exchanges and they never move them. I had to give them all lectures. Lol. I got in trouble with my boss because for a while everything was about crypto. No one was working.
Well, cryptocurrency was life changing for some right? How bout you, did you get into bitcoin as well? But, at least you saying that you're coming from the trade floor at least this isn't a lie of what you're saying.
