The development fund HAS to continue, obviously. Otherwise Zcash will simply die off. You can't expect people to develop it and dedicate time to it for free.
Really the only way to do this is to allocate a portion of the mining rewards to developers. The developers have to be guaranteed that they will be paid- not like Monero, where they simply rely on community donations.
feels like this is some kind of false flag event, where if the community responds in any variety of ways (that fall short of total unanimous support) - it will let the ECC throw their hands up, cash out and then move on to another project.
This is exactly how BURST and PoCC "separated" from the project, as just one example among dozens - it lets the original devs who already raked in millions during the bubble create the facade of a dignified exit (as opposed to just going dark, which a lot of low brow shitcoin teams did already)
Nobody care ECC status, non-profit or not. If they want to make money, let them make it. Who care !!! If they make Zcash be better.
We blame ECC because they are lied about future of ZEC. They only focus on make money from selling ZEC to community and let ZEC and community die.
ZEC the lowest growth cryptocurrency and ZEC is still unusable. But ECC always made tons of USD and they want more.
Nope. ECC has already stated that they "All in ZEC" besides there is nothing to "cash out" the funds from mining rewards end automatically in 2020, and don't exist until they are mined.
This post is a direct response to the Zcash Foundations request/guidance published last week: https://www.zfnd.org/blog/dev-fund-guidance-and-timeline/
Basically Zcash Foundation said " Hey, ECC you should become a non-profit org" and ECC responded with this post.
They are liars. They never all in ZEC. They told they spend more than one million per month.
That meant they already made tons of money from selling ZCash to community and let it die. Unless community let them hard fork second founder reward.
Thanks so i think there are some misunderstandings here. Who are the owners of the vast sum of original founders rewards and other development slush? (these are what have liquidated on the market and depressed price since Zcash conception)
I was of the understanding that it was zooko and the now ECC (but it seems that youre suggesting "Zcash Foundation")
Your misconception is that there is one, or very few owners who have enough ZEC to manipulate the price of ZEC which is not true. I suggest you read through what Zooko wrote the other day:
You can attribute the depressed value of Zcash to it's high inflation rate (40%) and the miners selling $500,000 worth of ZEC _every single day_ that the market has to absorb.
Good news is the inflation rate drops to 13% after the 2020 halving.
