Y'know, if they want to use their massive influence to introduce some of their (often quite young) following to books, I certainly not going to complain, no matter what books they are. King and Camus aren't bad - they're trite or cliche to some, but there will always be people who have never even heard of them before.
Christ this is such an uncritically received opinion, why shouldn't we complain? Why can't we wish we lived in a world where life was a bit less distressingly predictable? Or, if you prefer, why can't we complain that useless fashionistas make such a habit of crass summerstyleguidism?
