Former Vice President Joe Biden defended his reasoning to not legalize marijuana on a federal level if elected president, saying there is not “enough evidence” as to “whether or not it is a gateway drug.”
Even Republicans & other right-wingers tend to be on the legalization/decriminalization train (at least with weed) these days. Biden's always been HORRIBLE about drugs though. Google the Rave Act & you'll cringe hard. He made bottled water & cool-down areas illegal at raves, which pretty much ensures people will overheat & die. Now those laws also apply to [opioid overdose prevention sites] (https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2019/05/23/joe-biden-2020-drug-war-policies-opioid-crisis-226933) & crack houses in ways that are killing many others.
I used to smoke weed all the time when I was younger and had no issues. It wasn't till I was much older and was prescribed pain killers for an injury and by the end I was shooting dope. It irritates me when people talk down on marijuana. I dont smoke anymore but I see no problem with it. Pills are the gateway drug imo
Biden sucks. Please don't vote for him... It's not just the cannabis... he's not a very good candidate overall. He's too conservative, we need somebody who's looking forward not to the middle or the back
After all the backlash, he had to come out with something.. and "no one should go to jail" doesn't mean anything in terms of policy.
Trump also said something similar about deferring to the states and it frustrates me to no end. If you really, truly believe it's a states issue then deschedule it and let the states decide how to proceed. These politicians should all stop pretending like they're doing us a favor by "allowing" us to choose our own medicine.
Marijuana is still schedule one (no medical use with a high risk of abuse). Really.
