Know that bitcoin itself does not work well for retail/point-of-sale. This is because zeroconf (0-conf) bitcoin transactions are not safe. For retail / point-of-sale, the bitcoin Lightning network ⚡ provides instant, non-reversible, and ultra-low cost payments. While LN is used today, it might not yet be ready for retail/p.o.s. applications just yet.
BTCPayServer Integrations (WooCommerce, Drupal Commerce, Magento, Prestashop, and Shopify):
Bitpay hates bitcoin for unknown reasons. They never sponsored any Devs to bring protocol development forward, they enforced their broken bip-70 payment protocol for years although no wallet beside their own supported it, they need years to implement modern features like segwit and they demand horrendous fees.
It's a no brainer what a payment processor should do instead: it should explore and implement as advanced fee saving technology for it's users as soon as possible and make the payment process for it's users as smooth as possible. Easy. Not an easy task of course, but an easy mission statement. But bitpay somehow doesn't get it.
Bitpay is anti-bitcoin it is well known by now. They said they have no plans to integrate Lightning. Lightning should be #1 priority for all merchants and payment processors. Instead they are shilling altcoins.
Why does bitcoin even HAVE to use lightning. If bitcoin had been updated/scaled to keep up with the markets then bitcoin would nit have these stupid fucking fee issues. Why blame bitpay? It still pisseds me off that bitcoin cant be still used on steam
