>Democrats have decided her ability to purchase a firearm is not essential.
The President of the United States has ordered that all gatherings of 10 or more people be halted.
He's a Republican.
If a woman is being abused and she runs away, goes to the store and buys a gun, then runs back and shoots the mother fucker, that's murder. If she picks up a kitchen knife and guts him like a boar, that's self defense.
We have the right to peacefully assemble, the right to go to church, the right to do a whole bunch of shit that we all love to do, but none of us has the right to infect someone with a potentially fatal disease while exercising those rights.
Right now the entire human race is under attack. Countless billions of hostile microbes are attacking us all. We are ALL in danger. If this was zombies or Martians we would use guns to defend ourselves and rightfully so, but guns will not protect us from this. This invader is invisible and hides inside our own bodies. Any one of us could have been infected any time in the last two weeks and we would have no way to know. I could be infected right now. So could you.
People walking around amongst us with this virus hiding inside them are nearly on the same threat level as people who have been bitten by zombies but have yet to turn. Have you been bitten yet? You don't fucking know. But if you are infected, the last thing the human race needs right now is you walking around outside trying to buy a gun so you can kill your spouse.
Maybe you know for certain that you aren't infected, so it's okay to go out amongst the living, but then you merely risk becoming infected yourself. Why put yourself and everyone you know in danger? Do yourself and everyone around you a favor and just stay home as much as possible until this blows over, and if you absofuckinglutely must exercise your 2A, just buy your guns online like the rest of us.
Save your fake outrage and concern for abused women. If you really cared you would advocate for prison reform so that an abuser would get more jail time vs someone with a joint. You would advocate for the justice system to take domestic violence more seriously and put some actual teeth behind protective orders. If you really cared about domestic violence you would advocate for universal healthcare so that victim and their children would be able to receive professional mental health care to deal with the multigenerational trauma that has now been established and break that cycle. If you really cared about domestic violence then you would advocate for a better welfare system so she would have the stability to leave her abuser and get housing, food etc. But go ahead and cry about muh guns which would likely end up being used by her abuser to murder her anyway.
Oh my god! The looters! I forgot about the looters. They're massing outside my house right now. Ready to loot my collection of ugly ties and all my other valuable stuff. I need an assault rifle. For the looters.
It's not that. I agree with the order, not because it's a gun store but because people have been lining up and risk spreading the virus in small stores like this.
A lot of people arming themselves are in liberal states and are minorities. Tons of asian-americans preparing to be blamed for something not their fault (again...)
So yeah, guns won't stop corona, but they might stop a racist prick whos emboldened by white nationalist rhetoric.
My wife is Chinese and we're not buying a fucking gun.
One week it's anti-Chinese racism. The next week it's some other baloney. A heavily armed population of meatheads results in all the crazy gun shit that regularly appears in the news in this country.
You're completely welcome to do what you wish, but this country has a pretty nasty history of targeting specific ethnic/religious groups based on bad things happening. People love a scapegoat and this would not be the first time a minority group is targeted.
There is nothing 'meatheady' about owning a gun for self-defense. It's every single persons right and given our President will not back down from calling this the "Chinese Virus" i can see why people are getting anxious.
More power to you if you aren't worried. Don't look down on others who are.
>There is nothing 'meatheady' about owning a gun for self-defense.
Of course not! All the school shootings, and suicides, and whacky militias full of fat assed neck beards, the movies that glorify shoot-em-ups, Ruby Ridge, Branch Davidians, bump stocked AR-15s hurting hundreds at a Las Vegas concert, Texas Tower, Walmart, Baptist Churches, gay discos, kids well-versed in active shooter drills.
That happens in every country in the world. Just like here right?
No it doesn't.
>That happens in every country in the world. Just like here right?
Well yes, it does.
In Japan they go on knife rampages near/at schools. In europe they have car rampages, mass shootings and pipe bombings. In South America they have mass murder but it's done by gangs.
This notion that outside the U.S mass-attacks dont exist is simply not true.
Edit: There are issues with how mass shootings are categorized in this country. We do not have weekly mass shootings. Not in the sense most people think. A lot of the data is filed in such a way to make it seem like we have a mass-casuality event every day. I'd rather not get into it though.
Right in Japan and China sometimes they go on knife rampages that kill a whole whole whole lot less people than a gun rampage does.
In Europe they have occasional rampages, some of which involve guns. We have them every week. Every fucking week.
So it's the result not the action itself that matters? If all guns are banned and we start having knife rampages or homemade bombs and these kill less than guns, did we win? Do we pack it up and go home? Do we ban knives?
Edit: My point being we should work on solving/mitigating the underlying issues such as healthcare, wealth inequality, social support systems, dim future propsects, education reform and so on instead of giving up a fundamental right.
>A lot of people arming themselves are in liberal states and are minorities
You mean **americans** with the right to bear arms correct... or am I guessing wrong?

>However, everyone knows that it's the rednecks and right-wingers who fetishize guns, obsess over guns, and use their gun arsenal to define their personality and their lives.
This is where things get dicey, becuase what classifies as 'obessive' varies largely based on political ideology. It's much more accepted on the far left (socialism, communism, etc) than it is among normal liberals especially when you start bringing in things like semi-automatic rifles, which most people don't seem to know the difference between that and an automatic.
So why i'm being hyperbolic in stating that *only right-wingers own guns* which is of course not true, you come across plenty of left-leaning inviduals who are appalled/suprised at the idea of weapon ownership, let alone something scary sounding like an AR-15.
Truth is I know lots of so called "liberals" who hunt and shoot. I myself have been trained to handle many weapons and shoot, but I choose not to own a gun. That doesn't mean I can't pick one up, load it, and effectively use it.
If a certain group of people think they are the only ones who own guns they should remember that no matter how many they own they can only shoot one at a time. There are tons of people who don't approve of brandishing a weapon or being aggressive, but they will defend themselves.
I for god hope we as a nation are better than this. If we are not then we are not a nation.
>If a certain group of people think they are the only ones who own guns they should remember that no matter how many they own they can only shoot one at a time.
Most of them are first time buyers which only purchase one or two firearms like a pistol or pistol and shotgun/rifle for protection, not a gun enthusiast.
Most of the gun enthusiasts I know they're going for ammunition, not the guns (Because most of them already have their owns.)
Again you can only shoot one at a time. Stock piles are great for large numbers of people. There happen to be some liberal gun enthusiasts.
BTW these first time gun owners actually scare me more than the enthusiasts.
In general, be courteous to others. Debate/discuss/argue the merits of ideas, don't attack people. Personal insults, shill or troll accusations, hate speech, any advocating or wishing death/physical harm, and other rule violations can result in a permanent ban.

Garcia said the owner of the store had told officers the business remained open because, under regulations from the California Department of Justice, they are limited in how long they can hold firearms that had already been purchased, and the buyers had to pick them up.
“We told them to go to DOJ and seek a waiver,” Garcia said. “There was no malicious intent. A lot of this stuff is going to happen.”
Say what? I've never heard about a waiver for the waiting period.
Already commented on a number of these articles; interesting that the Newspaper Journo thinks his 1st Amendment business is Essential, while that of the 2nd is Not. He has that bass-akwards... and the poor sheeple in Calf will pay a price for their stupidity and leftist/ socialist/ communist bent. Glad I moved out of there!
“The one thing we can’t have is panic buying of guns”
THIS IS CALIFORNIA. You literally CAN’T panic buy guns. This is just a bullshit excuse to try and drive gun stores out of business. Fuck you Newsom, fuck you San Jose. This order isn’t even legal to start with.
No governing body in the US has the constitutional authority to close down any private business operating “legally.” These businesses need to defy these insane tyrannical orders and tell their governments to fuck off.
[Jacobson v. Massachusetts, 197 U.S. 11 (1905) ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacobson_v._Massachusetts)
>The Court's decision articulated the view that the freedom of the individual must sometimes be subordinated to the common welfare and is subject to the police power of the state.
>“upon the principle of self-defense, of paramount necessity, a community has the right to protect itself against an epidemic of disease which threatens the safety of its members.”
Precedent and constitutional justification/legality is no where close to the same thing. Just because the government has previously violated the constitution and got away with it doesn’t mean they have free range to do it again. So you can absolutely make the argument it’s “illegal.” We have to remember that the ultimate law of land is the constitution, not set precedent. We have forgotten that in this country.
Guns not essential, says the mayor protected daily by men with guns. I guess it's the costume or the badge that makes the difference between essential and nonessential. Some animals are more essential than others
