About half of the DApp developers who participated in this recent survey are using a centralized cloud backend and centralized tools like Infura to connect to the Ethereum blockchain. https://t.co/0NAKXIIEE0https://t.co/O6BR5mZw1i
There will be no adoption if the apps are too slow because the blockchain did not scale.

I personally think Sharding is the answer to scaling and getting the speed required for real world adoption.Multiple projects are working on the solution including Zilliqa, Harmony, Fleta and Ethereum itself, and having good results.
I would say it is only a matter of time until we start seeing some real traction with these projects.
Harmony is diving deep and has just announced their foundational node partnerships, so they are getting close.
Zilliqa just launched their main net. It was a little over due, but still great to see it up and running.
Fleta are releasing their Beta Testnet in the first few weeks of Feb, so will be following that closely as well.
Ethereum has been working on Sharding for a long while now.
I am sure their are others working on similar solutions but these are ones that stand out to me personally.

If only there was a network built for the scalability of trillions of transactions, that was specifically designed with these constraints in mind and to enable dapp developers. I mean, imagine such a public network. Maybe one day r/cc will even tolerate it being spoken about.
learn to code ?! lol *scnr
but what about something like Giana sisters ? there is even a open source version here https://sourceforge.net/projects/openggs/
or some other oldschool c64 or amiga games that were opensourced...
plasma dog from omisego was actually quite nice
Edit: oh and something like a Risk(the boardgame) multiplayer would be super nice xD
People claim every crypto they don’t hold is a shitcoin. Pay them no mind. You can see for yourself how well Tron is doing. Our community is growing fast, and these folks really know what they are doing.
From what I understand they are all basically gambling dapps. People try to shit on this but I think that’s the quickest way to get money into the space and best way to get currency moving around the system. I’m assuming this is the first step before other dapps take off.
Yea I think so as well. Tron is so young, and needs time to develop. If all we have in a year are gambling dapps then I would be worried it's not much more than that. Trying to determine what dapps Tron will only have now is a bad way to judge it.
It's like saying, the PS5 just launched and the launch games are only FPS shooters. I guess PS5 will only have shooter games, which in fact we all know many different genres of games will come out, just gotta give developers time.
Gambling Dapps are the lowest hanging fruit. Can be created fairly simply. People also really like gambling! On the other hand, think about how long it takes for gaming companies to get games to market, and that is with massive developer teams and DEEP pockets. This entire market is so new. I think it is progressing at a very good speed. Nobody should expect Halo type games anytime soon. Eventually these companies will grow and develops the deep pockets they need. Look how well Tronbet is doing. They are launching a new platform for other developers to launch their games on the Tron blockchain, while utilizing their profit model and integrating their games into the Tronbet ecosystem.
Totally agree. I'm excited for both Tronbet and Play.goc. They are building platforms that will continue to bring new games and other ways to earn money without gambling. I think people are stuck in the traditional sense of what "video games" should be. I think the future of blockchain games will evolve into a whole different genre of gaming and will bring in a lot of money over time.
