What's your take on ICO who are treading away from utility tokens sale and focus on compliant security ones, like 22xfund.com, do you think this is the way to the future?
8
Keith Teare
@NawarNory They are smart. All future token sales will be deemed securities. The right course it to embrace that trend and get ahead of it.

What are the most important 'picks and shovels' people should be building in the crypto space?
3
Keith Teare
@bentossell fiat to crypto and vice versa remains hard. Anything in this space is key.

What about http://rblock.co/ made you excited to be an advisor?
2
Keith Teare
@bentossell the team is great. A young team focused on a very specific problem that Blockchain is a great solution for. Verified references are a reusable asset across many employers through your working life. To place the verifications on the blockchain and render them reusable is both obvious yet brilliant.

What are the most important metrics for you to consider investing in an ICO?
2
Keith Teare
@dstuecken by far the most important is the metric that drives the likely token value. Usually this is related to the underlying value stored in the coin. In the case of Crypterium it was the useage of the company’s payment system.

If you had to invest all your life-savings in one ICO what would it be?
1
Keith Teare
@BlackSwanHuntin I would never do that :-). Diversification is key.

Which ICO did you miss out on that you wish you'd gotten in on?

@bentossell Ethereum

How do you evaluate an ICO opportunity?
1
Keith Teare
@bentossell it’s all about three things. The size of the opportunity, the team and the timing of the idea. All three need to be good.

Something you've recently changed your opinion on in the crypto space?
1
Keith Teare
@bentossell I used to think Bitcoin needed to be a means of exchange. I now believe it’s primary role will be as a safe store of value

Advice to people who are just getting into crypto:
0
Keith Teare
@soonaorlater Don’t underestimate how big of a change crypto will catalyze. Every major vale chain and software stack will be remade on Blockchain in the next few years.

Will ICOs render VCs obsolete?
0
Keith Teare
@soonaorlater No, but it may render LPs in VC funds obsolete.

Something people get wrong about the crypto/blockchain space:
0
Keith Teare
@soonaorlater Few understand that the combination of rewards systems fused with protocols is both fundamental and profound. Without bitcoin there would be no Blockchain. So you can’t like Blockchain but refuse to see value in Bitcoin. They are inseparable.

Are company's building products with Non-fungible tokens as their core offering more of less exciting than company's focused on network tokens/fungible tokens
0
Keith Teare
@Graham-McBain for now network tokens are favored, but that is due to the stage of infrastructure development. In the medium term application later tokens built on top of the infrastructure will be a larger opportunity

grahammcbain
If you were a developer building a DAPP (or proto Dapp), which network would you choose to build on? Eth, Stellar, BTC?
0
Keith Teare
@Graham-McBain probably Stellar if I didn’t need a sophisticated smart contract. I’d like the answer to be Ethereum but costs are prohibitive and speed is slow. That will get fixed, then I’d change my answer.

What would you advise someone who wants to get into the institutional tech investing space from zero? Like is there a pattern you'd recommend such as getting involved by building a startup, then moving on to angel investing and gradually go from there?
0
Keith Teare
@rexyfayed There is no path. I was an entrepreneur for many years, then angel invested, then founded a fund. That was a hard path. Many go directly into venture from MBA and work their way up the ranks. If you follow your passion you will find the way.
