Tencent's "Epidemic Situation Tracker" briefly showed confirmed coronavirus cases as of Feb 1 at 154,023, 10 times the official figure at the time, with a death toll of 24,589... and then everything quietly changed.
Those are staggering numbers for sure. I hope that it's not true but it wouldn't surprise me. The only thing that you can trust the Chinese government about, is that they are only saying what they were told to say.
I mean, certainly could be a fat-finger. But before anyone panics at the almost 25,000 death number it should be noted that the confirmed/suspected infections totaling over 233,000 means that the 25K death rate is just over 10%, of which SARS was almost 15% and primarily the elderly.
Also, this is Zerohedge. So take the information with a grain of salt.

I mean, I'm a 5th degree black belt in talking bullshit.. I can link just about any topic to CT some how.
The lesson to be learned here though, is just because you can do something doesn't mean you should... thats also my sentence synopsis of Jurassic Park, great book, better movie, 100% applicable here.
