RT @ryancharleston: I'm rare, I'm fan/user/investor in BOTH $ETH and $EOS. Even though I believe @EOS_io has immense potential this is why Ethereum will not die! “Ethereum 2.0 — Who’s building it?” by Darren Langley https://t.co/Mu4atZyEC7
Achain’s parallel chains can currently hit 1K TPS/ per smart contract.
As a comparison, eth currently has ~1,000 coins. If each coin can hit 1k transactions per second, that would be 1Mil TPS across the platform.
* Obviously some use cases will need higher than 1K TPS.
This isn’t a magic solve all, no one coin will do everything, but it is an ingenious way to take care of scalability.
It’s still under development, as all cryptos are. Just a coin I am entirely excited about!!
People hamper on cryptos so heavily, but honestly tons of platforms are under heavy development. Everything is being worked on across the entire industry and anyone serious about crypto understands this is a longer term hustle.
I completely believe the new digital era will be run through blockchain.

Basic knowledge here, this doesn’t mean there will be a fork will it? I own bitcoin and ether, and just get anxiety whenever I go to any sub that isn’t ether based because of the amount of animosity between the bitcoin cash and bitcoin crowd. As a novice in the space it just leaves me feeling totally lost and unsure of my initial interest.
There will most definitly be a fork. There is no other way to get to Ethereum 2.0. What you want to know is if there will be a chain split. I personally dont think so. Sure miners dont like PoS but they knew it would come for years.
Technically it is Ethereum proper that is a fork from the DAO hack. Ethereum classic kept the original chain.
So OP's point is that the current version of Ethereum can be considered 2.0, because of the important changes to the protocol at that boundary (the list of off-network reimbursement transactions) and possibly the departure from the original ideals.
Shasper is essentially ETH 2.0. Serenity is just the next fork after Constantinople this fall which may or may not include some or all of Shasper.

Thanks, makes sense in the context of the overall Frontier to Serenity road map. I'll be curious to see if Serenity will be broken up like Metropolis was to accommodate phases of Shasper..
I just wonder about these phrases like Ethereum 2.0 and Shasper. Does the EF team use these terms or are they simply community nicknames. Not that it really matters, I just get curious about stuff like that.

Ethereum 2.0 is used by the EF team to describe a vision of the future. It is used as a theme rather than a hard milestone. So elements of Ethereum 2.0 will be progressively rolled out in different releases. Shasper was coined when Sharding and Casper designs were combined... it is kinda used by EF although more jokingly.
I have also heard Ethereum 3.0 mentioned briefly but it is not even a concept yet - it was mentioned in terms of quantum security. Ethereum 2.0 will pave the way or may even end up being quantum secure but otherwise Ethereum 3.0 will be.
Truly insightful comment, thank you so much for sharing.
