Is this a joke? I mean, of all the countries / people to work on the collaboration of democratization.... Saudi?
This proves that most of us care more about money than the social impact on society. I'd expect this from shady micro lending crypto. Not the Ethereum project. 🤢 https://t.co/1IEUK6sLmc
These people are savage animals. I wouldn't want then to have any part of the Ethereum project. It stands at odds vs their agendas anyhow. And they are "Royalty" placed there as pawns by their owners 😂
Some should sack the Ethereum head of special projects! Saying "But there’s a hypothetical case where say, the Saudi sovereign wealth fund invests, like, a trillion dollars [in ethereum projects], which would be a real boon. That would be really great.” When the fund is not worth more than $400 billion makes you sound really stupid!
Do they get paid to work there or are they volunteers?
FWIW I'm quite wary of them myself. Words said to coindesk / on twitter by individual EF people don't decide EF policy; otherwise we'd have already hamstrung ourselves into the weird position of being willing to accept $1T from Satan but [thinking it's not okay](https://twitter.com/VladZamfir/status/1144159654131503105) to give *Libra* legitimacy. Something something that's the price we pay for intellectual diversity...
Granted, there's differences.
However, can you point out a jurisdiction there that's on the right side of history in terms of human rights, or the treatment of migrant workers, for that matter?
Also, Consensys is specifically mentioned as exploring contacts in Saudi, which is what got me out of my seat in the first place.

If Gulf leaders want to get a good return, they'll buy Eth
