Hey guys why does faceberg coin want to know what kind of porn I jerk off to? Also why is it asking me for my blood type?
Ever since I started using faceberg coin my appliances have been turning on at night and making strange whirring noises. One night I walked over to my computer after it booted up for no reason and command prompt was open with the phrase, "TIME TO SMOKE SOME MEATS" on it. I think it was threatening me.
money is irrelevant (they don't even pay themselves, they have investors)
they just have reach - they can have the worst service/quality possible. It doesn't matter - reach/userbase matters.
Facebook was a terrible(!) website, when it came out - I mean it really was trash - but it grabbed a userbase noone grabbed before - now they are big. not because they did anything technological outstanding - but they just have the users.
People in here will have a natural instinct to FUD zuckbucks and that's fair enough, but nobody can deny this will be very successful. This is the Wechat of the western world. Huge. Billions of people already have a FB account.
What people are missing is that we will have ZB/BTC pairs. Otherwise what kind of a coin is it? It might be restricted to choice exchanges such as Gemini but still. That's potentially billions of people onramping to the crypto ecosystem.
Zuckbucks aren't a bad sign, if crypto was going to ever be successful, such a thing was inevitable anyway. I wouldn't have expected such a thing for another 10 years.
Of course, we have totalitarian potential between the lines. FB already knows all about your life. Let's add all your economic activity into the mix, shall we? All of this data in cleartext, conveniently commodified for governments and corporations to read. YIKES. Thank god we have a choice. Go crypto. Go dark. Encrypt everything. We have the technology.
As far as our markets go however, this is painting BUY signals all over the place. You have to look at the whole picture.
Comparing it to WeChat is not really pertinent, Chinese went straight from bills (or even sometimes barter in the countryside) to smartphone payment apps because there was no pre existing infrastructure and consumer habits.
Westerners have long used cheques and especially credit cards. The benefits of using a phone app over a cc is minimal and I don't see why it should be so incredibly successful when almost every single bank + Google and Apple already provide a payment app.
Waiting for more details.
The question is: will you be able to move it off FB/Instagram/WhatsApp? Will you be able to trade it on exchanges? FaceBook coin will have to go trough all the lawmaker's scrutiny concerning money laundering, unlike other cryptos which are actually decentralized and there is nobody to go after.
This is the big question, and my feeling is that people will indeed be able to move it off the FB platforms. I am led to think this because Facebook is selling masternodes to institutions, and like the news say, Mastercard/Visa/etc will be participating. What would be the point of that if you couldn't move ZB around? What would they be doing at all?
It’s in the article bro
>Uber, Stripe, and the others are reportedly investing $10 million each to support a separate organization that will help run the new digital currency, which has been codenamed Project Libra. (The companies named in The Wall Street Journal's report did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.)
>A separate report from The Information last week said that Facebook is hoping to enlist as many as 100 organisations to act as "nodes" in the network, which will limit any single organization's control over the digital currency (including Facebook).
