RT @mvidallopez: Recuerdo que hace unos años, algunos autodenominados expertos (pronto se convertirían en shitcoiners) defendían la necesidad de solicitar regulaciones para Bitcoin, porque eso favorecería su respetabilidad y adopción.

Fuck Facebook. And fuck Silicon Valley “disruptors” in general.
The formula has morphed from build it and they will come, into break everything they have and they will be forced to come.
Namely break their laws and protections, breach their privacy, overstep their boundaries. All of the things that are in place for good reason.
Currency controls by the state are there for many good reasons. Any attempt by Facebook to replace that and we should not only block it but ban from our markets/break Facebook into tiny pieces and sprinkle them at sea.
Its almost as if facebook overstepped a rule that's actually enforced for once. Now they're not only morally the bad guys operating in a grey area, but also the guys who overstepped the boundries of the law by attempting to sidestep everything that make up our economies.
Well sure, giving a currency value by accepting it as pay for taxes has always been the privilege of the head(s) of state. You can’t just make up your own money and expecting the creators of specific state sponsored currency to ignore it. Trust in money is very important to keep our capitalist way of life healthy and running. If too many people think about the relative value of money, we might end up in a financial crisis with no way of telling how it would end 🤷🏻♂️
On the one hand, Facebook is a disease, and it's probably not a good thing for them to control a currency. On the other hand, I'd be hard-pressed to find a worse, more transparently bootlicking rationale for blocking it.
It's like watching the school bully get in a fight with the incompetent teachers. There's nobody to root for really, it's just a stupid masturbatory spectacle of unjustly powerful assholes slapping each other.
I can't think of any aspect inherent to being a "nation" that's at all relevant here. Having unopposed control over a lot of land? The fuck does physical land have to do with this? Being recognized by other nations? Then the question just shifts to why their status as nations us relevant, as well as how they're in any place to decide who has permission to do that.
Why are individuals treated like second class citizens? Like we're guests in the world or something?
