Gemini and Brave have partnered to make it easier for users to buy, sell, store, and earn crypto when using the Brave browser. This integration allows users to engage with crypto via the new Gemini Trading Widget.
RT @cryptoserrano: With 15M MAU's Brave is quickly becoming one of the most important gateways to crypto.
Now, you'll be able to trade Zcash through Gemini directly on the homepage 🙌 https://t.co/6pZkjORDW6
RT @brave: The new @Gemini Trading Widget is live today in our Nightly version, allowing Brave users to engage with crypto in a simple and secure manner. Also, big news for Brave Creators, who can now receive their BAT payments into their Gemini Creator Wallet. https://t.co/sHKcqBI7BM

Yes, in your creators.brave.com dashboard, you can disconnect your Uphold account. Once you do so, you'll see the option for Gemini. You can only have 1 wallet connected at a given time, so just disconnect/connect whichever one you would like to use!
You'd have to do it manually. So, if you'd like to transfer over to Gemini, you can send your BAT from Uphold to your Gemini deposit address. And then in your creators.brave.com dashboard, disconnect Uphold and then connect Gemini in place of it!
You have to do KYC at one of the exchanges before you are able to withdraw funds.
You are only able to send BAT as tips or donations without being verified to other brave users and websites.

So Brave uses their own integrated wallet to manage this? I can't just send earned BAT to my Ledger?
Not gonna lie, I was pretty excited by the concept but having to choose between Uphold and now Gemini is kind of a bummer.
I used brave as my old browser and had like 40 bat or something from ads, been using it for quite a while. I recently reinstalled windows and noticed there was no BAT left. I logged in with my email and it didn’t help, I never used Uphold, is there any way of retrieving it? Sorry I’m commenting here and not with support but I couldn’t figure out or I didn’t look hard enough when I tried to find support.
[According to the response](https://i.imgur.com/Mnw4kMk.png) I received a couple weeks ago when I re-installed windows, the recovery key does not backup the balance. Only the pending rewards.
Is there a way to re-install windows and retain your balance using the recovery key without being verified? Most users are unaware of this and are unknowingly at risk of losing their funds.
Indeed, this has been a pain for us on support. Fortunately, the warning in the UI for users is done: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/10021
One thing you can try to do in the meantime (before we get a proper backup, ideally with Sync v2.x x >0 w/ Rewards data) is go into your Brave Browser folder and back it up. The two most important files are your `publisher_info_db` and `ledger_state` files. If you save those, you may be able to reinsert them into your new OS installation and see your BAT.
The other way would be to verify your wallet, and have the BAT linked to a crypto exchange (which will hold them for you).
Hey, thank you for pointing that out! I was talking about on my PC, so I found that if you go to brave://rewards there is a section right at the top that says "Ads" and there is a little settings icon to the right that if you click on it, it gives you the option to adjust the # of Ads per hour.
