What do you mean she used to be a millionaire? She lives in a $10,000,000 mansion in Atlanta. Her husband, Jeffrey Sprecher, is the Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange. Furthermore, I don't see anything in her past that qualifies her to be a U.S. Senator.

Now she's a billionaire (with her husband).

She used to be a millionaire.(now probably billionaire) What other qualifications does a politician need ?
Funny how with you Americans everything is (seems to be?) black or white, probably because of your winner-takes-all two-party system. These kinds of comments are mind-boggling to me, just cherry-picking some opinions you disagree with and calling people "shitheads" for it.

This lady literally thinks my chosen profession in life is a Chinese conspiracy. What's truly mind-boggling is why people like you defend these shitheads.
He didn't defend anyone, it was the thought process he commented on. To me from a different country to both of you we think exactly the same as him. Nothing's black and white and it's odd how in general Americans readily jump to an extreme. Everything which divides the populations opinion in half is grey in reality. In other countries there are still maxis but political tribalism is less extreme.

It is black and white in this case. You shouldn't comment on things you don't have any understanding of. One third of my country has willingly embraced a pathological liar who thinks science is a conspiracy, if you can't understand why most people find that distasteful then I can't help you.
One third? A pathological liar? Do you mean Trump? If only white people would vote, every president would be Republican. The whole all scientists say climate change is because of humans, is not true. It's the media that blew up a research and the media worded it differently as well. There's lots of scientists that do not agree.
You're acting like your opinion is a fact, but realize it's an opinion. If you're not open to debate and are stuck in your own bubble, you will only divide more.
You realize 'Vox' is biased and not trustworthy at all? If you read Vox all the time or if you're pro-Vox, it just shows you're getting a lack of opposite news or are not interested in it, because your opinion is already formed.

Source please, to back up your statements. Because I believe you are thinking of Fox news, not Vox.
Source? Just Google 'Vox biased' and you'll see it's clearly left. And do you really think 'Forbes' is trustworthy? Everyone can post on their website as contributor. The person from your article is a Senior Contributor, well, well done. I don't read nonsense anymore. With the internet everyone can post anything online.
Okay, so you said at the beginning of your post that things are black and white here? They are. And there are a set of opinions that go together with someone being an odious person across the board, because of how black and white things are here. The chances of her having some redeeming opinions are vanishingly small because of the way political affiliation works in this country.
It happens because traders allow it to happen, nobody wants to keep their own keys so custodians can do whatever they want. Banks have power over fiat today because the people give it to them and it looks like they will have the same power over crypto too.
They say they are backed by physical Bitcoin, but is there a mechanism in place to actually take receipt of said bitcoin? If you follow the investigation that Chico Crypto has done on his YouTube channel, it appears as though there is no way to actually withdraw the BTC to a private wallet. The coins simply move to a custodial company warehouse owned by Bakkt itself.

Well, they say they are backed so that they can get the necessary licenses. I assume they are, but I'm happy to change my opinion if an institutional investor tells me otherwise.
Not being able to withdraw to a third-party wallet is a different issue than the service involving physical Bitcoin. These are two separate discussions.
Very good point. If you watch the link I shared, Tyler does touch on the fact that, unlike most of the other regulated exchanges, they have been unwilling to provide the public keys for any of their physical BTC holdings. I admit I have not done any of the research myself, but it seems Tyler has done some very thorough digging into the background of the company and it’s execs. I would love to believe them when they say physically backed. However, it does seem there are some questions they could shed more light on.
Sure. But I'd be willing to hear from their actual customers. It's not because it's a public blockchain that they are *required* to share public keys with non-customers. I don't get where this is coming from. I don't know the "public" holdings from my bank, for example. As long as their customers, the institutional investors, and the governmental body's know, I'm willing to believe them. Hence why I postpone my judgment until I hear an opinion from the inside.
