They are not doing this to make a statement about Bitcoin. They are doing this because there are alot of people that are into crypto and bitcoin and that "B" has become a recognisable symbol. By adding it they will get more people to download their keyboard.
This is even more obvious when you consider that they have not added it to android yet. If they wanted to legitimize Bitcoin they would ofcourse add it to the biggest smartphone OS in the world, especially considering they own it. But on Android their keyboard is standard so they do not have to care about downloads.
Sorry for bringing you guys down, I am just pointing out that this should not change your view on Bitcoin or cryptos as it is not significant enough to have the impact it would have if Google started endorsing Bitcoin.
I just don't want you to act on wrongful theories.
Nah this doesn't mean anything to Google. It's just supply and demand. Doesn't mean Google acknowledge this as a currency, neither it is an endorsement.
You guys need to chill. Once the crypto community starts treating Bitcoin as a currency, only then it will become one. Most people here are just holding Bitcoin to sell it when it's of a higher value.
Start using it for goods and services. That's the only way one can endorse crypto.

Except it does mean they are acknowledging it as a currency or they wouldn't have cared to even add it. It's quite big news that Google would do this, especially in a bear market, it's a sign that bitcoin is here to stay. Regardless of whether or not you believe this to be insignificant news, being pessimistic about it is not going to help at all.
