This has been happening for a long time and has become increasingly ingrained in the fear mongering tactics part of the right in politics in the US. Use fear to manufacture violence and use the the fear of that violence to exercise power.
It is not usual to have the POTUS do it so blatantly.,
But it is also not usual to have POTUS be a broken tool of organized crime and the asset of a hostile foreign power.
Also note that from Columbine right up to Parkland there was both political and financial gain for certain constituencies around the NRA to have mass shooters. They sold a metric buttload of weapons after every shooting event, "cos' Obama gonn' take away your guns".
And note that thanks to Bannon's work with Facebook/Cambridge Analytica it has been possible for a while to micro target susceptible, dissaffected young males who live in states with loose enough guns laws and send reinforcing messages and ideology to them that nobody else experiences.
And adding to that, the same hostile foreign power behind the fraudulent POTUS leveraged the divisiveness of the gun issue and funded the NRA 30 million to support him. Do we think they were amplifying the stochastic terrorism incitement with their info warfare support also?
Why yes, yes we do. Mr Mueller told us they were in one of his indictments.
The article didn't do any justice only providing two examples. They should have pointed out more statistical evidence for their theory, which is primarily based on "statisticaly predictable, but individually unpredictable" actions:
Rather than give a few stories, provide a link to one of the many compiled lists of right wing terrorists acts that have occured in the last 3 years..
One might say "but I'm not a racist/bigot/Nazi/islamaphobe/homophobe", but the point of this article is that even the less extreme members of a group still fuel the limited but extreme actions of the fringes. The fact is, these acts have increased recently and were and will be primarily inspired by right wing ideologies.
This is actually not a new phenomenon - for years now, violent groups like the KKK will use phrases like “lone wolf” as a call to action for this kind of terrorism.
Even further back, “Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?”
The difference, and the problem, is that these coded calls to violent action have entered mainstream political discourse.
Human values have a place in politics, and in business. By driving them out, and caring about the win without examining the methods, we are becoming poorer as a society. My hope is that we’re at the point that the pendulum will start to shift back. If not, the next 50 years are going to be one hell of a ride.
This is fairly similar to what the islamists do. They have a loosely organized group of ideologues and propagandists that encourages their followers to come up with their own attacks without central support.
The difference is that the islamists *directly and unambiguously* encourages their followers to perform acts of terrorism.
That suggests that they ever had a place to begin with. Yes, there are examples of politicians and businesses that have made hay with policies and efforts that seemed to favor human values, but few of them were done solely for moral reasons and not with an eye towards what they gain by it.
Is this why deranged leftists keep popping up like manchurian candidates?
Inciting a class war by spreading lies, and abusing their authority as journalists to selectively edit video footage with the intent of promoting violence against innocent kids demonstrating for the rights of the unborn?
Attempting to kill Republican congressmen as they play baseball?
Spray painting racial epithets on, or burning down churches, and blaming their opposition for the act in the lead article, only to be discovered as shameful race baiters, and then the story is subsequently buried once the narrative ceases to fit?
Like HRC telling her supporters to NOT act civil in the event of a loss?
Like Kathy Griffin posing with the bloody disembodied head of the President of the United States?
This weaponized leftism has been in effect since the day Trump won the presidency. They know what they’re doing. By any means necessary.
The one lone nutjob that shot people playing baseball, how many left-wing terrorists have you seen? Because I can dredge up a laundry list of right-wing terrorists in recent years.
What's the leftist equivalent of Trump saying "there are fine people on both sides" after the Charlotesville attack?
The left and right joined together to make Griffin apologize for her the disembodied head.
Yes, there has been some vitriol from the left, but not from their leadership. And right -wing terrorists have been far more violent and oppressive than the left ever was.
The answer is yes, I post on t_d.
Since I got that out of the way, look beyond the perceptions spread by the news and go read that sub and laugh out loud while you learn uncomfortable truths about society.

I've never heard of that tribe! Amazing! A tribe of ONE!
You are an Individual. The greatest minority of all. You get all the social points my friend, for the Individual is currently under tremendous assault.
