People kept breeding, while there were already too many of them years ago. Overpopulation is a problem. The bubble of artificially made jobs to hire those unnecessary people now has come to an end. It's just the beginning of the end.
That doesn't account for the amount of efficiency gains due to advances in technology that simply allow companies to do more work with less people. This would still happen even if the population was constant.
I don't think any amount of stimulus will matter until we start seeing the infection rates decline. The US is still nowhere near peak COVID and there will be no amount of bailouts that will be able to combat the images of hundreds of thousands of dead people and overrun hospitals. It will forever change American's perception of their government and general security. I ain't buying shit until I we're on the other end of the Corona curve.

The ruling class took their opportunity to get rid of any employees they've been wanting to. My company did but they absolutely need me. I asked for sick pay, which I'm entitled to as my governor wrote it into law and they said they couldn't and I should go on unemployment for the time being. I'm going to remember it when I go back, if I don't visit them at home before then and demand it.
