This article is grossly misleading.
I inadvertently kicked off a firestorm by tweeting comments from Satoshi Roundtable on how Lightning might impact Bitcoin tx fees.
There is no plot by Bitcoin Core developers to add inflation to $BTC.
Core is taking the minors fees with LN for Blockstream. Seems to me they have to either raise the cap or centralize mining (do it in house?). There is no good path ahead for BTC unless they start raising the block size. Looks like doom to me. It was very sad, but, I am getting used to the idea. The miners probably should have moved to the BCH fork when it happened. Could have saved a lot of grief.
The impressive social engineering efforts are just testing their theories at the moment. By the time they do something, most of the current non-believers will think it seems like the right thing to do. Holdouts can make a new r/BitcoinCoreFor21M and feel the power of the darkside oppressing their ideas day in and day out for years.
A guy (who has absolutely nothing to do with Bitcoin Core) quotes another guy (who has absolutely nothing to do with Bitcoin Core), who brought up a theoretical question at a conference (which has absolutely nothing to do with Bitcoin Core) about bitcoin's inflation.. And brings up an altcoin (which has absolutely nothing to do with Bitcoin Core) as an inflationary example...
Article's title: "Bitcoin Core's next goal...". Well done.
They really are reaching at straws for disinformation and FUD. Seems they are running low in cash though as this attempt at a narrative is painfully ineffective.
In fact the whole implosion and colossal failure of bcash have been painful to watch.
Yup. You summed it up.
The bcash scammers already have no merit to stand on so they operate almost purely on whatever lies they can get people to fall for.
Meanwhile, bcash itself raced the inflation way forward with their "EDA" difficulty adjustment changes, bringing in a big payday for Zhuoer and pals. They also spread similar dishonest fud scarmongering about peoples coins being taken away while the latest ABC hardfork confiscated a bunch of coins apparently/supposedly accidentally...
