Ben Tossell
How and why did you launch this?

Jaynti Kanani
@bentossell We are still in building phase and reaching out to other crypto products if they are interested in integrating the solution in their products.

There are two particular reasons for us: 1. Transaction fees - Users need ETH in their accounts to transfer your ERC tokens. That's frustrating. It also makes products unusable. 2. slow confirmation - it takes time to get confirmed your transaction. Imagine, you have to wait each time you buy something. Take an example of crypto-kitties, people were freaking out on gas fees and transaction time.

We want to help people to use a decentralized product without worrying about the complexity of it.

Could you explain how and why Matic can provide free token transactions?

What’s your background and what are you working on?

Jaynti Kanani
@bentossell I started my career with full stack dev in Indian IT company and moved to startup eco-system pretty quickly. Then I joined Housing.com as a data scientist. Currently, I am working on Matic Network, a network which provides a way to transfer and pay crypto tokens instantly. It takes an advantage of state channels and side chain (example - plasma).

How did you get into Crypto?
0
Jaynti Kanani
@bentossell Actually, I am watching the space since 2016. I wanted micropayments for my product (side project) and I started exploring cryptocurrencies - bitcoin, to be precise - to integrate it into my project. But while the phase of exploration, I got more interested in crypto than my actual project.

How did you build an early community?
0
Jaynti Kanani
Matic's community will overlap other projects which use Matic for transfers. Best bet is to get more partnerships with such projects.

How have you grown your project?

Jaynti Kanani
@bentossell We have not launched yet. We are preparing for launch in this Quarter. As this space grows, usability and scalability will be first problems any product would face. With the solution to such problems, we are expecting numerous growth.

What is your funding model/incentives?

Jaynti Kanani
@bentossell We are first launching Matic as PoA (proof of authority which resolves on Ethereum) in the first phase. And as we go ahead, we have two options: 1. Have proof of stake with our own token or 2. Continue with PoA and charge settlement small fees.

In case of later, we will go with traditional investment.

Have you found anything particularly helpful or advantageous?

Jaynti Kanani
@bentossell Yeah. Existing Ethereum community is fantastic and very helpful. Whenever I ask questions to anyone in the space, they helped me out - particularly https://twitter.com/feindura and https://twitter.com/chriseth

What’s your advice for people who are just starting out in crypto?
0
Jaynti Kanani
@bentossell Avoid FOMO :) And understand basics of blockchain if you are trading. That will help to identify the noise.

What projects do you think would benefit most from adopting Matic?
0
Jaynti Kanani
@weiks Projects with utility (ERC20) tokens will benefit from Matic.

And of course, as you know, "Pocketful of Quarters" https://www.pocketfulofquarters.com - will be the first to use Matic :)
