lmao. Okay I can kind of see what he's coming from though — going to the grocery store is like apocalyptic. It honestly feels like we're in some movie or game. Everybody wearing masks, standing far away from each other. There's a general quiteness and sense of malaise. It's scary
The thing is - refusing to wear a mask doesn't make the danger - which is real - go away. It just makes you more likely to either get infected, or to spread it to others. Either way, it's a worse outcome. But so many people seem unable to think beyond *right now*.
Oh yah, I know that. Definitely wear a mask. My mom doesn't like wearing masks, I tell her I don't give a shit if it makes you uncomfortable, it's not about you. It's about everybody, which is quite a bit more important than whether or not you're uncomfortable for an hour.
Man those guys are missing out. Last month I went to Shoprite with a full-face gas mask with 40mm CBRN filters and a wasteland trashbag poncho. This is great, I'm getting in my "Stalker: Rise of Chernobyl" experiences while it's still somewhat socially acceptable.
I am a dude and I don’t do umbrellas (I wear the hood on my rain jacket), but hand me condoms, helmets, seat belts, masks, protective eyewear, gloves, etc. Why wouldn’t people protect themselves and their families?
The rain jacket to be fair is basically just an alternative for an umbrella. But some of these people think being tough is synonymous with being stupid. The neighborhood I grew up in had a lot of this type of toxic masculinity. People encourage you to do stupid stuff and call you a pussy or whatever when you don't want to until eventually they warp the way you think about things
