The Brits have always done this historically. They got people to do their dirty work then disposed of them. Google the Greeks in ww2. The man should have been knighted in his lifetime. The Brits are disgusting people the things they did to Ireland, India etc were despicable.
It’s great that such a great mathematician is on new paperback, however it make me sad that he is famous in public because he was ‘gay’ mathematician. He deserves 50euro note whether he was gay or not. That does not matter.
i overheard people talking about 'i'm not using a 50 pound note of they have a q***r's face on it' and i was confused as last time i checked, Alan Turing wasnt gay. now i get what they mean... Even then who tf uses 50-pound notes commonly, especially some 40-year-old chavs from west England tbh (he didnt look like a druggy nor alcoholic either)
Alan Turing would not want to be remembered the way you are all remembering him. He would want to be remembered for his legacy. It was dispicable what happened to him yes. Absolutely but that's not how he would want to be remembered nor would he want that to be his legacy. He would expect we'd learn by it yes but not dwell on it.
This has been a great struggle for me. Brainwashed to think homosexuality is evil.
I personally made effort to friend a couple gay guys. Then when we were pretty good friends, I asked lots of questions. It helped and now, though fear creeps up every once in a while, I can put it in its place and treat all as human beings.
