I've been perusing the Pete sub just to see what they're saying about this. Apparently we aren't the only ones being targeted by the Bernie camp. Went from "Pete is a rat!" for nine months to "Welcome aboard!" overnight and the Pete sub is apparently wise to it. Meanwhile, /r/politics has a top post about how Pete supporters are going to head for Sanders.
Tomorrow's results will bring more fun theatrics I'm sure!
He would have been the most progressive president in US history, but because he wasn't as progressive, regardless of how realistic those progressive policies are, he was vilified. Literally called everything under the sun, a traitor, uncle tom, corporate shill, because attacked him because he was white or wealthy, despite being about as white as anyone on that stage and the poorest on it as well. Everyone here spent more time hating on Pete, despite everyone with a lick of sense knowing this was coming, he had zero chance, but half an election cycle has gone by with Biden, the much less progressive candidate skating by to a two man race with barely a scratch from the progressive side, while maintaining the minority and women's vote somehow.
Unlike Pete, Biden can actually win the nomination and is a real threat to Bernie. But no one has ever accused the dems of having political sense, being right is more important than actually winning.
Good riddance, racist scumbag. What posh, conservative gay white men who complain about 'mean leftists' don't understand is that the working class actually NEEDS healthcare, housing, student debt forgiveness, tuition free college, an increase in social security disability benefits, and so seeing some priveleged rich kid come onto the stage and tell you that actually no, you don't deserve any of that, and that it's fine that LGBTQ people remain homeless (40% of homeless youth are LGBTQ), without healthcare (m4a would cover gender reassignment surgery and PREP), drowning in student debt (LGBTQ people have higher rates of student debt because our parents refuse to pay) is a serious attack. To those of us voting for our class interests, for the person who is actually going to fight for us, Bernie Sanders, the feelings of the elite don't matter more then whether we are able to survive. If you can't understand that, try to put yourself in someone else's shoes.

Pete was the only Democrat I would vote for. Now back to the Libertarian Party.
This hurts. Buttigieg, I will miss your demeanor and intelligence the remainder of this race. Trump vs Sanders/Biden sounds awful. Why are we fighting for the future of our country by giving it to the hands of 70 year olds???
TBH, I think his campaign highlighted how there is no "community" amongst the LGBTQ+ people. Even in this thread, there's people who are just vitriolic name-callers... just because he didn't believe what they believe. I mean, I get that he's not a progressive, but this sort of highlighted just how much the echo chamber works both online and off, with people absolutely behaving completely poorly towards other people who they could be friends with, because they disagree on like maybe 10-15% of policy, but they're so focused on their disagreements that they don't realize nearly how much they do agree on.
The worst part of it is that it's the verbal poo-flingers who consistently chastise everyone else for not being a good person.
I think you'll find voting is effective.
I think you'll find explaining your own perspective, experience, and positions is effective.
I think you'll find insulting people not only ineffective, but counterproductive because it turns people off to otherwise reasonable points you might be making.
I'm not gonna tell you how to live your life, though, you do you.
I'm just saying how you behave reflects on you, how they behave reflects on them. Joe's certainly not my ideal candidate, nor is he the candidate I voted for in the Primaries, but all this mudslinging does is needlessly deepen divisions that are gonna end up getting exploited by Trump and his Russian pals
He's quite progressive. Some people are just so wrapped up in their own far-left echo chambers that they no longer have a grasp on the rest of the political spectrum. Not that being far left is intrinsically wrong, but losing touch with where the rest of the country is positioned leads to mislabeling.
No, his proposed policies would leave many in our community to die in poverty; that's only 'quite progressive' to those who are quite priveleged. Bernie's plans are universal and don't leave our the most marginalized members of the LGBTQ community. Policies mean life or death to some of us, so yeah, it is wrong to advocate for leaving some of us to die on the streets.
His goal was a public option with a cost ceiling of 8% of income. That has widespread public support, so it is far more likely to pass. That then provides a path to an eventual single payer system if the government proves itself to the people.
The head of the Swedish Social Democrats rejected comparisons between Bernie's platform and the Nordic model. The candidates that he felt were closest were Buttigieg and Klobuchar. ([source](https://theweek.com/speedreads/896948/democratic-socialist-bernie-sanders-far-left-swedens-ruling-social-democrats-official-says))
The last paragraph in the article contradicts your claim and basically points out the Swedish leader was thinking more about the word Left than actually comparing policies. Sanders has never said he wants to move the means of production all to the people's hands.
Comparing their Left to our "Left" isn't even close.

To /r/ainbow Pete Buttigieg was the "wrong" kind of gay. White, masc, straight-acting, non-socialist and successful.
This sub basically wants nothing less woke than Billy Porter running with Laverne Cox as VP.
If he was as progressive as Bernie he'd be my choice maybe too, if he was canadian he'd be a liberal which is our moderate party, and Sanders would probably be NDP which is the more leftist party that never wins because we have to vote for anything but conservatives to keep them out of power.
AOC is right, in a not two party system the Dems would be way more divided. Too many Dems are basically status quo but at least trying to not be bigots to an extent
Don't forget Pete's open fondness for religion. That part matters, too.
Most LGBT people have been *deeply traumatized* by religion. So to see an LGBT person trying so hard to advocate for religion... it hurts.
As a gay Christian, that animosity deeply offends me, and te fact that Pete is a gay Christian I thought was really cool (even though I'm much more economically-right-wing). Although I do have first-hand experience of where you get that animosity.
Everyone on this forum who still plays into Right v. Left will soon realize they’re owned by the same shadowy figures.
The reason TPTB are cracking down would be because there is a mass wake up going on right now. The plan was to deal with a partial wake up, not a full blown war cry from humanity. As time passes and they continue their reckless path more and more people are going to see past this nonsense.
To the real theorists on here - hold out. The show is having a very hard time carrying on, look at this last year, now think about where we will be in another year.
