The fact that the cops are targeting the media and political representatives with violence, harassment and general intimidation proves the point that the police unions have created their own enforcer units. All state and local law enforcement officers, sheriff deputies, police, rangers, troopers etc. should be placed under state supervisory licensure board controls, just like attorneys, doctors, engineers and other professions are. The cops are doing to high profile figures what they have been doing do individual blacks and other minorities for far too long. The media should make supervisory licensure boards their focus to stop the future incidents like George Floyd and the hundreds/thousands of others like him.
edit: Licensure board revoking a cops license would mean that the cop could not continue acting as an enforcer above the law. An attorney who steals a client's settlement will be stripped of law license, a doctor who replaces the wrong hip will be stripped of medical license, engineer who signs a construction change causing bridge collapse will be stripped of engineering license. But a cop who shoots and kills an unarmed black reporter will get reassigned, because we have no supervisory licensure board controls for the law enforcement profession!

I'm all for due process, but I'm getting real tired of hearing the constant refrain of "this incident will be reviewed," while the bad actions are repeated time and time again. I knew there were serious problems, but I admit to not knowing the full extent of this systemic sickness until this past few days. This makes me ill.
Hey news orgs, can we maybe stop bleeping expletives? You are covering news of extreme violence and protests, a few four letter words should NOT be of a concern right now.
The president calls the press the enemy of the state. This is the result of what WE (not me) asked for.
What they do in the shadows... you'd almost think the police are afraid someone might shine a light on their actions
The FBI IS currently requesting videos of individuals instigating violence during peaceful protests. Please submit your video. https://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/seeking-information-on-individuals-inciting-violence-during-first-amendment-protected-peaceful-demonstrations
That would seem like a pretty solid reason for terminating your employment in the police force.
I would expect nothing less than the dismissal of these police from the force. They are not enforcing laws. They are making up their own.
Hey guys, honest question. Where can I go to for a non-biased coverage of the protests? I'm not looking for the constant flurry of propaganda that reddit spits out every second (having seen how the Hong Kong protests were portrayed). There's no doubt police brutality exists and many police officers are using excessive force but I don't want either side to be painted as completely wrong or right. I want the full picture of all the wrongdoings on all sides.
Democracy truly dies in darkness. This shit has to stop before 2020 becomes 1984 for good.
Police should all have a number/letter combination somewhere on their gear, large and clearly visible
“get the f—- out of here you piece of s—-.”
This piece of should be one of the fist to go!
I have read over 100 journalists have been attacked by police in these demonstrations.
Trump has instigated this BS. He needs to go.
But the Chief of NYPD took a knee. I thought that solved everything there. /s
More criminal activity from the police. The police need to b incarcerated.
NYPD union is like NRA. Made of fucking imbeciles and have enough lawyers to make trumps bankruptcy and pedophile charges look like Misdemeanors. Want to change the cops dismantle their unions and reshape them to match the community they suppose to take care of. Nypd union are headed by mafia and dudes that live in gated communities
Honest question: If the journalists had refused to obey an unlawful order from the police and had instead elected to be arrested, would there have been consequences for the police?
Wow, that Fox News bit? The one chance we had to get film of police brutality on a conservative TV network, and the protesters attack the news crew. Real smart guys, I wonder which film they ran with...
and here is another example to why people dont give a fuck when these pieces of shit get killed. these people are traitorous filth. fuck them all.
America needs to retire the police forces—we don’t need this shit! They’ve shown us everyday these past couple of days that there are more assholes behind badges than “good ones.” Watching is like watching a live action version of GTA.
We have FBI agents in every state, so why not have them look into issues until a replacement can be made. We need a higher set of standards and values for people who’s job it is to protect the rights of citizens. I don’t know what the requirements for law enforcement are, but a degree in law should probably be mandatory...as well as common sense.
