I’m not confident progpow will ever be launched because it won’t benefit the security of the network. I feel major eth stake holders think the miners leech free money from the system based on when I listened to the calls about reducing the issuance from 3 to 2 and miners were against the reduction. I felt the sentiment was that the miners have gotten a free ride long enough and we’re about to transition to 2.0 soon anyway so who cares about them.
One possible risk for the business is that the ethereum community has previously voted to activate the so-called ProgPow algorithm in order to remove the edge maintained by large miners that can afford expensive, specialized chips, although the timing for that switch is not yet decided.
That's not misleading, that's straight up misinformation.
