Texas Bitcoiners: please consider calling your state representative’s office and asking them what they think about this bill 👇 respond to this tweet with what they say! Very curious https://t.co/vpKSQC1fWS
A bill proposed by the Texas legislature will require that all receivers of #cryptocurrency in regular transactions verify the identity of the cryptocurrency sender before accepting any payment.
Problem is there is no "accepting" of a payment, a transaction just gets mined and now you have the ability to spend, you never authorize the transaction. However, in LN you do in a way accept a payment by publishing the secret key you receive that you broadcast for everyone on the route to recieve their payment as well.
> Why not save time and just chip everybody.
After state-mandated chipping, they'll add more and more draconian laws until it's impossible to not routinely break laws just existing, and 100% of the populace is in prison. However, you'll be allowed to have a job while in prison earning the government-approved minimum wage to pay rent on your cell, meals and government-approved entertainment, minus appropriate taxes, surcharges and fees.
The tough part will be saving up for the 'exit fee' of twenty grand required to leave prison after your sentencing is complete, but you always seem to keep falling behind year after year.
Then we'll all be the obedient, highly-compliant little worker bees the state requires.
