So its not advised to backup the seed. So I need to trust casa to give me some key to unlock my seed on icloud if I lose my phone. What if casa looses my key or is offline? I think paper seed backup is still better.
“The private key is saved in your phone's secure enclave and backed up using Casa's existing secure backup method”
These two things are literally impossible on iOS. The Secure Enclave can never be read — that’s the whole point of it.
Following the link however the CTO specifically clarifies the key is NOT saved in the Secure Enclave. I guess the author of this blog post is trying to simplify for readers or they themselves don’t understand.
“Once the seed phrase is generated, we store it locally on the device by leveraging the secure enclave. When storing with the secure enclave, the seed phrase isn't actually stored inside of the secure enclave. Rather, a private key is generated in the secure enclave. We then encrypt the seed phrase with that new key and store it in the device's keychain.”
300$ year for gold membership. Silver is free? Gold allows you access to your third key anytime free silver you have to pay ,3% of assets recovered? Gold comes with hardware updates. You can drop down to silver. ? Means I’m not 100% sure.
I just installed the sats app on Android. I enabled Tor on my casa node with one click, and then connected my phone to the node. Everything worked flawlessly. Easy to send micropayments (I tested with https://satoshis.place/). Some transactions completed in 3 seconds, others in about 7 seconds.
The "Checking Invoice" loading indicator takes longer than I was hoping for. I think the app's lock setting should be enabled by default too.
$300 is the price for the node+software (plug & play), a hardware wallet and the 1yr of keymaster (2of3 multisig). You don't have to pay any annual fee unless you choose to use keymaster. IMO it's a solid solution if you're not tech inclined or if you value your free time more than the money.
