RT @JasonLeopold: UPDATE: The metadata on the DEA memo in which DOJ granted the agency sweeping new authorities to conduct covert surveillance on protestors says it was prepared by DEA Deputy Chief Counsel Robert Gleason.
The memo was sent to DOJ by acting administrator Timothy Shea. https://t.co/WeNCBoez2K
RT @HaileyLennonBTC: This 👏 is 👏 not 👏 ok
The DEA has been granted sweeping new authority to “conduct covert surveillance” and collect intelligence on protestors of the police killing of George Floyd
The DEA Has Been Given Permission To Investigate People Protesting https://t.co/In0LscTi8j
Again, really am sorry for the tone in which I was responding. It was silly for me to act like I have any idea what you know. Lesson learned for me. Thanks for accepting my apology.
Hope you have a great day as well.
Not sure what happened between you two, but I love to see this kind of communication. We can have heated debates, but in the end we have to be able to set it aside and treat each other like humans. Especially in the current world we live in. Peace be to both of you ❤️✌️
Big brother out to collect data again. They have been able to deploy drones that capture all celly data since Obozo. Targeted words of choice within messages/apps are then filtered and flagged- gun or bomb, kill, meet here to start, etc, as well as GPS location histories. There are missing stolen guns they are attempting to re-sieze. You can bet you wont get busted for MMJ unless its an excuse to weasel a way into some big fish crime syndicate.
All I said was that ignorant people would mention the same thing before their empire collapsed.
Being educated doesn't mean you can't be ignorant. Or did you not learn that during your time being educated?
Can we just whip our dicks out now, or do you want to work our way up to that by showing documentation of our indoctrinations?
It's the literal definition of the word.
Don't back down now.
Multiple top tier IT certs (not talking bottom of the barrel CompTIA, MSFT, etc either).
I propose we have a trusted mod receive our official transcripts. Also happy to live stream me accessing mine from both grad schools, and show the dozen or so courses I have created and currently teach in my tenure as well on video.
Sucks when someone tries to take position of authority to win a debate, doesn't it?
You can be educated, and still be ignorant. To claim you're not is arrogance. Everyone is ignorant about certain aspects. It seems your ignorance happens to be, and is not limited to, the paths and most common timeline of countries facing empirical collapse.
Dont get me wrong. I mean that's great that you have a good memory to repeat what you've learned. Then again, memory is often mistaken for intelligence. I'll admit, I'm envious of people with a good memory. The double digit concussions I've suffered limit me in that department, but at least it helps me keep ego in check.
So, feel free to look into Sir Jon Glubbs work titled "The Fate of Empires". It describes the stages in which empires rise and fall according to a common timeline and actions.
Pffft wait... what am I saying??? You've been educated, therefore you have already read it since you cannot be ignorant of anything. So I should just ask you -what ways you believe America has not mimicked past collapsed empires up until the Age of Consequences-.
Let me know if you just want to have that flop-off or maybe an arm wrestling match? How about we settle the "authority" thing by seeing who can fart the loudest?
Yeah, it's not my finest moment. I apologize to you and anyone else who read this.
All of us are broken here in some way. I should've assumed not everyone here was broken physically like I am. I feel bad about it... almost bully-ish.
The memo, apparently written by Timothy J. Shea, Acting Administrator for the DEA, appears to have been approved by one Gerard Weinsheimer – though BuzzFeed state the signing was made by Bradley Weinsheimer, Associate Deputy Attorney General.
Let's do some research Gerard Weinsheimer and Bradley Weinsheimer. Bradley is the Associate Deputy Attorney General. Now what about Gerard, who's name is signed on this "memo" from Buzzfeed?
Nothing, he's a nobody. It's a fake memo, signed by a fake guy and Buzzfeed's past disregard for vetting of sources cements this further. People really need to learn to vet sources and stop falling for well-built fake news.
>Hold on, we are medical users, we are fully allowed to have cannabis on us in public.
In the eyes of the DEA we would be in possession of an illegal schedule 1 narcotic.
We're fine with city/state law enforcement. Not sure if I'd risk bringing a federally illegal substance to a protest where federal agents could be conducting investigations or arrests.
I remember during Occupy Wall Street, one of the ways the police justified breaking up the gatherings was that there was "rampant drug use present".
Don't give the authorities a reason to silence you.
Having Cannabis on you could actually be a good way to protest.. the whole point of protesting is to stand up for justice.. arrest me for having my medicine on me and I will see you in court.. all the way to the Supreme Court if need be.
Possession of weed is a misdemeanor.. if I had to take a misdemeanor to change the world then so be it.. the lawyers would turn it into a states rights case.. there is a reason the feds aren’t camped outside dispensaries arresting people.. they don’t want this legal battle.
You clearly don’t understand the criminal process or the Supremacy Clause. Federal law trumps state law. The states do not have a RIGHT to create law in defiance of the federal government. You would be found guilty and nothing would done at a large scale. Pretty simple really. The reason they’re not arresting is NOT because of the legal battle. It would go before a federal judge and the judge would follow the law. The best answer to why they’re not going after dispensaries like they were is because of so many states making the change and it no longer being worth their efforts. Now they are focused on opioids.
They're not coming after you for drugs at the protest. If you read the article the DEA is being acfivated to act as an extension of all law enforcement. They're there to bash your face in for being a reporter so local PD's hands don't do all the heavy lifting
cahrage<-- Fully Medicated :fully_medicated5:1 month ago
This is exactly what I took from this article. It is just as likely for them to arrest you for pot as it is for any other person working for the federal government at these protests. They aren’t going to protests looking for druggies. They’re going to protests to act as back up law enforcement.
Here's what the article says:
> The Drug Enforcement Administration **has been granted sweeping new authority to “conduct covert surveillance” and collect intelligence on people participating in protests** over the police killing of George Floyd, according to a two-page memorandum obtained by BuzzFeed News.
edit: It's strange to downplay that when it is written so clearly.
DEA has some of the most advanced covert surveillance techniques used for tracking the cartels. They are more likely than not being used to identify the people whose intention it is to start violence or loot.
I mean considering they're charging protesters with a variety of charges (like using a cell phone during an illegal act, hiding your face during an illegal act, etc..) I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't tag you for weed *and* legal prescription drugs you might have on you. They figure charge you with everything under the sun then the federal courts will figure it out.
Stop spreading misinformation. Federal agents have to enforce federal law and bless your soul if you think they won't charge you with possession.
I thought Trump supporters were supposed to be against government shit like this. What a joke!
BS .. married to one also and he could care less about busting anyone for weed .. ANYONE .. weed is the least of their worries when there is fentyal out on the streets killing people at record speed .. if you are not trafficking they simply don’t give a shit anymore . They don’t want to spend two hours on a report for your bit of weed .
>They don’t want to spend two hours on a report for your bit of weed .
If they have already arrested you and you are in possession of marijuana, you are precious thinking they won't charge you for it. I commend it.
On another note, WTF is going on? People are defending the DEA now? I dont believe it. Honestly you must be some sort of shill
No dear they actually have what they call “ discretion “ which means unless it’s huge amounts ( and obvious personal use) they can simply destroy it ( dump it out and have you step on it ) . The DEA isn’t out looking for personal use period .. I’m mostly speaking about county / city in which they can absolutely and mostly now days use discretion for weed , as far as DEA they just wont waste time on a dime bag .
And wtf is a shill 🤷♀️I am a MMJ patient.. that’s about it .
No president can legalize weed regardless of party. They can remove it from scheduling (which would be a great step), but it's still up to each state- hence why over half the country already has some type of MJ program while still federally illegal.
Orange Man Bad! Hemp became legal under the Trump admin - you can now ship low THC bud directly to your door thanks to the Trump admin - wtf did Obama do for you? LOL
Queue all the triggered dumb stoners attacking me for being factually correct. This fact shuts u all up every time I bring it up LOL
I LOVE triggering liberals!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bring on the downvotes snowflakes
Mike Pence is outspoken against legalization, and Trump aint doing shit. Facts.
Vote these guys out in November! Trump better stop giving his family jobs in the Whitehouse, they are all gonna be on the unemployment line come 2021
Why not just read the actual document they linked?
> **"engage in investigative and enforcement activity including, but not limited to, conducting interviews, conducting searches, and making arrests for violations of Federal Law."**
“Drug enforcement agents should not be conducting covert surveillance of protests and First Amendment protected speech,” said Hugh Handeyside, a senior attorney for the ACLU. “That kind of monitoring and information sharing may well constitute unwarranted investigation of people exercising their constitutional rights to seek justice. The executive branch continues to run headlong in the wrong direction.” We used to look at 1984 as a dystopian novel. I think we have surpassed that now with our current reality.

Yup. From a 1994 interview with John Ehrlichman Nixon's domestic policy adviser,
“You want to know what this was really all about?” ... “The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”
If you think this is disturbing ( and it is) Lee Atwater's on-camera interview about how he ( and those he worked with and for) moved the meaning carried by the n-word to other words in political discourse over the course of a decade or so is truly vile.
edit: I forgot a word or two.
Take your white privilege and supremacy along with your lame insults somewhere else, Matt, I'm an immigrant to this country and have much more claim to racism and such which these protests address. Sorry that my ability to think for myself frightens you - you can stay a sheep and follow the masses, I'm fine with that, just keep your boot off my neck ok?
There won’t be a “legitimate” news source recognized by our government that will have such information. There are quite a few documentaries that touch on the subject, however. One thing that we all should agree on is the fact that the internet is heavily censored these days, and information that goes against people with that kind of wealth and is unfortunately not readily available, especially not by any major news or newspaper outlet.
I would suggest watching some or all of the following links, as they do have some very good information and they do cite sources. Least you can do is give them a listen. You may find there’s some good information to be found.
This one has just been reposted last week. Had hundreds of thousands of views before previously being taken down. It’s been deleted off YouTube multiple times already, for reasons I personally am not sure of. However sources are listed in the video, and can be individually searched. Soros is mentioned a few times throughout the documentary.
A lot of good information in this one that can be verified as well.
Also to be clear, I’m NOT some big Trump supporter, by any means. I know he has done many things that should have been done differently. I, however, would take him over Hillary or Biden any day.
And at this point, Id like to apologize to the mods and other people in this group for writing all of this stuff that’s unrelated to FL medical cannabis. I guess one thing led to another haha. Because of this, I won’t be responding to or posting anything else unrelated to FLmedicaltrees.
With that being said, there’s some good information in these videos, and I’d love to continue any sort of civilized discussion via private messages, in case anyone has questions or anything. Again, my apologies for the thread hijack. You all are awesome and we really all are in this together. Bless you folks and have a good rest of your day
Verifiable sources don’t mean anything to a dumbass haha. Anything I’d post, no matter how legitimate, you’d say is bullshit. Again, spend a few minutes of your day and check for yourself if you actually cared. Which it doesn’t seem like you do in the slightest. You seem like the type who likes everything handed to you and can’t think of shit for themselves. That’s unfortunately a different kind of stupid that takes self awareness, not anyone else’s information, to change.
My my aren’t we self righteous. I’m not going to debate how much I read and watch or read history, I’m well versed. All I’m asking for is for you to provide your source, I mean for someone as smart and as educated as you are you have to have some verifiable information to back up your facts rather than hearsay. You must be a Barr man. Only the left wing anarchists are at fault, not an organization of criminals who have scouts, communications, and box trucks to go exactly where the cops aren’t. Why don’t you just go jump back in your bunker, count your MRE’s and gallons of water and don’t come back out.
Well versed... how ironic.
Not sure what a Barr man means. If it’s something to do with the television news, I don’t watch that. So not sure where you’re trying to go with that one.
And are you inferring that being prepared with supplies is somehow a bad or odd thing? 🤔
You obviously are “well versed” and have your picture completed painted, so we’ll just have to end it at that.
Try not to keep those panties in a bunch, and enjoy the rest of your day.
"adults" whining on an online post about government looking into agitators of riots leading to anarchy around the country, out of irrational CNN-driven worry Orange Man Bad is coming for their weed...LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL thanks for the laugh, so adult of you.
Ignorance is bliss. Antifaschistische aktion aka antifa was formed in germany during the 30s too bad they act just like the people they were designed to fight against today
I know my enemy yet you don't know who you support lmao
We the people are against fascism as a whole. Antifa is a term used to give boomers a target for propaganda. Antifa was the Republicans and Russians creating unrest during the elections and now.
The people destroying buildings that aren't corrupt police stations and corrupt government buildings are what happens when everyone doesn't honor the rules of law. Some people on all political spectrums only behave because of law and the fear of eternal damnation. Bastardization of religion and allowing fascism will only exacerbate the situation.
Our president at every term has called people of color animals, and they are being treated like animals. I get it. Sorry you don't.
We're done with any police state.
Absolute ignorance. Don't worry to all the traitors licking the dicks of actual fascists. We understand just how ignorant you are. You are no longer a part of our tribe, and are literally the most anti-American citizens since the civil war. And you are diving head first into destroying your church with your golden God Anti-christ.
Next you'll tell me Jesus wants all of this. He would spit in their faces if he wasn't Jesus, and real.
To the men and women who actually serve and protect thank you, but it's time for you to speak up, and contest this brutality.
It's time to restaff our police forces.
To be fair. This country passed the point of no return in the 1970s. I thought we would make it to around 2036 before we collapsed, but Mango Mussolini showed up and conned the gullible into speeding things up.
It's a shame. We were never "great"... but for a short time, we were at least improving.
Your initial comment was rude and insensitive to the current events. Nobody posting on an online forum is unaware of what people are protesting about. Your acting naive and it just shows your lack of morals.
The DEA is limited by statute to enforcing drug-related federal crimes. But on Sunday, Timothy Shea, a former US attorney and close confidant of Barr's who was named acting administrator of the DEA last month, received approval from Associate Deputy Attorney General Bradley Weinsheimer to go beyond the agency’s mandate “to perform other law enforcement duties” that Barr may “deem appropriate.”
If the statute does not actually limit their activities, how long until we're reading articles about how Barr is granting agencies approval to perform summary executions?
"Your President of law and order." he said. As his troops opened fire on citizens engaging in peaceful protest. Then he walked the streets of DC, in defiance of the lawful curfew.
