RT @DrEricDing: Another [repost: really] preventable death from late testing - “She tested for coronavirus, and her results were delayed. Five days later, she was dead in her kitchen.” Age 39. #COVID15 https://t.co/YJRt5Qzoog
Her test results have still not come back. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office has not released a cause of death; state health officials have not said whether they believe it was a case of coronavirus.
The lesson learned is that she should have been taken back to a hospital as her condition worsened. Having COVID-19 test results is not a prerequisite for seeking treatment and knowing she tested positive would likely not have changed the course of care for a respiratory infection or pneumonia.
Ok well do you think it is better to be concerned, and knowing: some other Americans are dying after showing symptoms of the virus, before they can even get the test results back?
The point of the post is to just let people know: 1) if you are young you are still in danger, please read and be intelligent/safe
2) Potentially you can die quickly from the virus, even before you get the test results back.
And in case you think I am blowing smoke, read this article from a Doctor dealing with the virus: [This respiratory therapist treats coronavirus in New Orleans. He says the virus is a lot worse than you think.](https://www.nola.com/news/coronavirus/article_701fcccc-6b7f-11ea-a78e-4b0eb098d207.html)
>“I have patients in their early 40s and, yeah, I was kind of shocked. I’m seeing people who look relatively healthy with a minimal health history, and they are completely wiped out, like they’ve been hit by a truck. This is knocking out what should be perfectly fit, healthy people. Patients will be on minimal support, on a little bit of oxygen, and then all of a sudden, they go into complete respiratory arrest, shut down and can’t breathe at all.”
>They suddenly become unresponsive or go into respiratory failure.
Knowing the potential threat of the virus. Hoping to inform people so they play it safe and understand the danger we are all in.
I am sorry you don't see any worth in being warned of a potential threat to you, your family, and friends lives. You are too busy attacking me. If you don't want to be warned don't click the link and don't read. I am posting this for the people in my community who are big enough to understand why and what I am posting.
I just wanted to share this info with my local people. I know this woman is passed away in New Orleans but I just want you all to be safe out there and understand the potential danger we face. If a mod if upset with me for sharing this, please understand I am not attempting to share this for any other reason than I care for my neighbors in Syracuse, NY.
If trump doesn’t lock it down, it’s going to get bad. He’s leaving it up to the states so he doesn’t have to call in the military, and I get that no one wants “martial law”, but this shit is about to decimate our healthcare system. It’s not fair to put our medical teams in this situation without the proper ppe. We don’t have the hospital beds or the ventilators. It’s continuing to spread worse than any other country. I’m not saying that this virus wasn’t “released” as a distraction but the fact of the matter is, it’s dangerous as shit. I have toddlers that I’m worried about and I have parents and grandparents I’m worried about. It makes no sense for certain counties to have curfews and others to not. This country needs to be on the same page and look what is happening in Italy. We’re next. What happens when all of our police, doctors, and military has the virus at the same time? It’s going to be chaos and we will wish we had national guard check points. We have botched half the tests and still don’t have enough tests. It’s a debacle. This country would be sitting ducks for a terrorist attack if half the country was sick.
Then let it run it’s course. In order to flatten the spread enough to not overwhelm the healthcare system, it will take 18months.
No way we are going to be under martial law for that long. If this is going to hit, the best thing the government can do is be honest and help us prepare for the the hospitals get overrun.
Make videos on best home treatments for pneumonia, figure out whether the amount of virus you’re exposed to matters to how sick you get. Give us our money back to whether the storm.
I'd like to know the status of her immune system. Because yes young people get it and die. But there could have been other things wrong with her. Unless she was perfectly healthy, if so then that's definitely not an uncommon thing. But young deaths aren't as prevalent as elderly deaths.
Edit: I don't know why i was referring to her as young. She's middle aged, more at risk than a young person. Less risk than an elderly person.
If you look at the related article on the same page. [https://www.nola.com/news/coronavirus/article\_34ceafa6-6ae1-11ea-9608-63b33f054a0e.html](https://www.nola.com/news/coronavirus/article_34ceafa6-6ae1-11ea-9608-63b33f054a0e.html)
This man was 44 and also passed away recently from Covid. He was a local celebrity and had tweeted previously that he was "fine and healthy." He also documented his actions when seeking help from local doctors and ending up at the hospital.
Definitely not common. But as OP pointed out, it's a call back to people dropping dead in the streets of China when this all started. But again, there needs to be research on those kinds of quick deaths compared to "delayed" ones.
SS: I think we all need to know how deadly this virus can be, even to a young person. Remember the videos of people dropping dead on the street in China. Is this the reality of the danger we are facing?
word is there are the two strains, or a few mutated versions, or depending on your genetics you get one that causes the mild symptoms, and one that causes the deathly pneumonia. Alternatively, it could be on the second infection when you have the immune response and that one gets wrecked like dengue fever.
So you think the governments and hospitals are lying about the virus? I guess you need to see people yourself dying or be dying yourself to believe it?
If you are able to make a comment like that, why dont you go and research some videos of the COVID hospitals and see real people filling the beds suffering.
I think it's a bunch of people with severe health problems that happen to catch this mild virus and it's too much for them to take. I refuse to believe healthy people are just succumbing to the virus when there are so many people recovering

There is no cure for the virus people are treating the test as a cure. Only the test does is gets other people protected. So her dying before or after the test results although sad is irrelevant. Other people that she interacted with need to be isolated and tested.
