Can someone smarter than me explain this? Why do we need a payment processor service at all? It takes a 1% fee for transactions as well. Bitcoin is a bank in your pocket. Snap QR code of sender/receiver. Send to wallet. Done. What’s the relevance here?
Businesses have employees who need pay, suppliers who demand pay, rent to pay, taxes to file. Until all of these *also* accept bitcoin, businesses have no choice but to convert all or most of their revenue into fiat.
Bitcoin is a bank in your pocket, yes, but individuals operate on a whole different kind of way from businesses.
Bitpay handles only on-chain BTC transactions. OpenNode is lightning enabled... so unlike Bitpay, they have instant confirmations, no network fees for their user's customer's, and the ability to do microtransactions
Wrong. He already holds a ton of BTC. Investing 1.25M in BTC at this point would have no effect on his fortune and no effect on the price of BTC.
Instead, he invests in a business that he thinks will help bring more and more adoption. If it succeeds, he wins on both sides. If it fails, well, he still has a lot of BTC and could profit from other scaling / adoption easing initiatives.
This is exactly what we all need (him included) to bring BTC to the masses.
Since .000000000000000000000000000001% of the world ever heard of opennode before, maybe rename and secure domains for marketing before you fuck yourself in the foot by not getting a .com or .org if you are actually serious and not delusional.
