"In a statement relayed through their representative, Hanks said the two contracted the illness in Australia, where the actor is filming Baz Luhrmann’s untitled Elvis Presley biopic, in which Hanks plays Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker."
So he got it in the US, on the way to Australia, or in Australia. Either way, he was tested for it in Australia, where testing is free and readily available. You can't say the same for the US. Title aside, that's the point of the article.
I am just more likely to believe foreign allies then the current US admin.
“Contracted” and “got sick” are two different things.
I “contracted” a mankey roast beef sandwich last Monday, but didn’t “get sick” until Wednesday.
The Hanks’ wouldn’t have been able to get tested in the US without rattling all the cages and calling in favors and spending some money. Which is wrong! No matter what your social or economic standing is.
