Third-party Bitcoin custodians: is the "inconvenience" of using your own wallet worth the risk?
@myBylls and @BullBitcoin_ 🇨🇦 we don't let you make a bad decision: using your own wallet is mandatory for our non-custodial payments and exchange services.
I remember when they closed my account because they fucked up on a deposit, and didn’t fix it until I came to shame them on Reddit, and they powertripped and made fun of me and all the idiots in this subreddit cheered them on. How none of you saw this coming after so much shit like that baffles me. I hope everyone moved their shit off of it when they could.
Actually, thank you. I recall you posting a long long time ago about some problems. (Can’t find the post in your history to reread it). Because of you and several other people posting I ended up never putting a dime on Quadriga. Figured it was only a matter of time before that titanic sunk. And in the event I was wrong, fuck bad service, I didn’t want the same experience.
Don’t think your posts didn’t save anyone. You’re a hero on some level. You just don’t know how many people you influenced.
Thanks man! Much appreciated! Glad it helped someone out. And I didn’t even mind calling it even, I told them we can move on and forget it happened, they still powertripped. You’re a smart person. Able to withstand the temptation!
They are terrible. Check my other comments in this sub. They were so unprofessional and stupid it’s unbelievable. They were on such a power trip because everyone was trying to sign up in 2017. Made their egos huge.
Their website disclaimer is such BS if they've been offline for 1+days.
Our site is down for maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate your patience, and will keep you updated as we know more. Thank you.
Your site is down for maintenance yet will update when you know more? If you're supposedly updating your website wouldn't you be the ones who know the critical information?
Sad to see, I used to use QCX all the time. Thank god Shakepay has come along and I know better than to leave a lot of funds on an exchange but really feel for all the people getting screwed over this.
Meh, they only offer BTC and I don't hold any BTC. I believe in the P2P digital cash vision of Bitcoin, I'm not sure being just a (highly volatile) SoV is going to be worth anything. Even if they did offer Eth the seamless experience with Shakepay makes me hesitant to change.
Reddit. This guy is behind all this and he is criminal with fraud background in California and he has to be in jail. His office is still located at the same address as QuadrigaCX (318 Homer St, Vancouver, BC V6B 1E8): https://imgur.com/a/qObh14E
If there's a scam it's either him and his partner [Lovie Horner](https://www.bloomberg.com/research/stocks/private/person.asp?personId=290595549&privcapId=283815245&previousCapId=283815245&previousTitle=Quadriga%20Fintech%20Solutions%20Corp) or the ex-CEO, Gerald Cotton [who died from Crohn’s disease](https://coingeek.com/users-quadrigacx-exchange-still-unable-withdraw-funds/) on his honeymoon while building orphanages ([according to a friend of the family](https://www.reddit.com/r/QuadrigaCX/comments/ag1lrx/statement_from_jennifer_robertson_wife_and/), /u/hkpink) and his wife ([who gave control of QuadrigaCX to Patryn and his partner](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1A3ENx8kUgHUSnSkorvG655E70J5JFdx2/view)). If not, it's a really REALLY big PR shit show and they'll probably go bankrupt soon after. In any case, it's a terrible thing for the canadian Bitcoin ecosystem. Michael Patryn and his Bitcoin Co-op pals are a shame for the cryptosphere.
I’m surprised we had to. It’s a Commandment as far as I’m concerned, along with “An exchange is not a bank; don’t leave any coins ‘on account’” and “Don’t risk more than you’re prepared to lose”
Yup, surprised and disappointed. Clearly we need to take a harder look at educating people better.
