I've been incredibly uncomfortable with the endorsements of Bitfinex (i.e., "Nothing to see here. Move along.") from a few of the Bitcoin Core and Blockstream peeps.
Like, is Adam Back going to personally make accountholders whole when the USG does what the USG does?
You're wrong. Their new partner is Bitrefill, as stated in the above video. Apparently they are going to do something like Coinbase does, where you can use Bitrefill's services (and buy their products) using the money in your Bitfinex account.
"Bitfinex will not charge a premium for exchanging second-layer satoshis for mainchain BTC (or vice versa). However, withdrawals will have the regular fees."
"'There is no premium in this step,' said Ardoino. 'However, we will apply a small fee when you process a withdrawal in the opposite way. But that’s it, we don’t apply any premium or any conversion rate for the service.'"
I don't know if I follow. Are they saying I still pay the same fee for BTC withdrawal, even when withdrawing on Lightning network?
