This works fine for remote employees or digital nomads. For example, if you currently work remotely in Thailand, to be paid in Bitcoin will be the most easiest and cheapest way to receive Thai Baht from overseas.

But as for me, stablecoins would work better than Bitcoin because of the volatility. All stablecoins imply a peg. Just 2 cents :)

This is something I was discussing with several companies I've worked with that deal with multinational clients, remote employees, and international vendors. Obviously yu won't have everyone onboard - but to offer it as an option is a solid idea. How to get your CFO, or whomever is in charge of payroll, on the same page is another story. Need some first movers and case-studies to make people feel comfortable about the shift...

Many crypto startups are paying out employees in coin. Perfect situation for digital nomads. Nightmare for tax authorities and down the line potentially headache for startup CFOs to navigate regulation. Keen to see how this develops.
