I build technology to be useful to people. Tweets about Venezuela, decentralization, computer science, human-centered design, education, life.
@CallMeGwei I think the main reason why Telegram, WhatsApp, and many others require phone numbers is to fight spam accounts. Someone who works heavily with messaging applications could answer this way better than me.
Are there plans to support location sharing soon?
(Pardon if I'm asking a lot of questions, I really am excited about Toshi's potential)
I've noticed that Toshi currently requires phone number verification on iOS, but not on Android. Is this a decision to make it more widely available? What's a good way to avoid spam accounts without this protection?
Where can we see more of Toshi's roadmap? I want to build apps on it for developing countries, and I love that it's a very light and widely compatible install, but I'm missing key features like string internationalization.
